How do we read your brainwave patterns?

Using our EEG (Electroencephalogram), electrodes are placed on various areas of the brain while you look at a picture on a screen.  It then identifies and records brainwave frequencies and specific activity in various parts of the brain. No electrical current goes from the machine to you; it is only reading the electrical activity within your brain. This process takes approximately 30 mins, is painless and non-invasive. EEGs are part of the routine initial assessment at BFM.

How do we retrain your inefficient brainwave patterns?

Neurofeedback is a workout for the brain, resulting in a more efficient, resilient brain!  Sensors are placed over the area to be trained, and you sit back, watching a video with headphones on. When your brainwaves are moving towards a more efficient pattern, the video and music will play. When it reverts to your accustomed inefficient pattern, the video and music stop. The brain likes the reward of a video and listening to music playing, and adjusts to the more efficient pattern.  Eventually, the brain is trained to perform in a more optimal state through this process.  Neurofeedback works synergistically with QNRT (Quantum Neuro Reflex Technique) to get you even better results.

Sessions are scheduled for 30 minutes, 10 minutes for prep and clean up, and 20 minutes of NF training.  Best results are seen with at least 2 sessions a week.
